Asia Center Winter Research Travel Grants

Asia Center Winter Research Travel Grants support graduate students traveling to conduct research over the winter recess that looks at two or more countries of East, South, and Southeast Asia comparatively or explores the relations among Asian countries. Individual country topics will be considered only for Southeast Asian countries or if they are part of broader, multi-country research. This multi-country context must be made explicit in the application.

Some grants may be supported by funds with special conditions which will be made clear in the award letter. These may include attending donor-related events or making a brief visit to a partner institution during the funded activity period.

Grant recipients are required to submit a written report upon their return that may be used by the Asia Center online and in printed materials.

Grants are open to students who will be returning to Harvard for at least one semester following the funded activity. Students must be in good standing at the time of funding.
