Jingyun Dai

Jingyun Dai is a PhD candidate in sociology. Jingyun studies cultural processes and class and gender inequalities in the context of elite higher education. Her dissertation examines how students at the two most prestigious universities in China imagine their future class position and how class origin and gender together shape that process. Other research projects aim to understand how cultural processes shape activism in China. She has researched rural reconstruction activism and environmental NGOs in China.
Jingyun is from Chongqing, China, and received a B.S.Sc. in Sociology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
