Dahlia Showalter (she/they) is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Harvard University. Dahlia uses ethnographic and qualitative methods to study illicit drug use and the legal, medical, and social institutions that manage it. Her first book project is an ethnographic study of opioid use in rural California. Dahlia’s research has been published in Social Science & MedicineTheory & SocietyInternational Journal of Drug PolicyMobilization, and elsewhere. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.
