Zulette Romero
Hi everyone!! My name is Zulette, and I am a junior double concentrating in History and Sociology with a secondary in Latino Studies. I am from Arkansas, and I currently live in Cabot House. On campus, I am involved in several public service and cultural organizations, including the Cambridge After School Program, the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter, Citizenship Tutoring at the IOP, and the Harvard Undergraduate Latina Empowerment and Development Conference. After graduation, I plan to attend law school and become an immigration attorney. I am excited to be a Sociology PCA and share my perspective on the field.
Why Sociology?
I decided to concentrate in Sociology after taking Race and Ethnicity in Global and Comparative Perspective. Before getting to campus, I had never taken a sociology course, and I wasn't sure what the field encompassed. Since then, I’ve learned that sociology is a broad discipline that offers the opportunity to explore topics such as immigration, race and ethnicity, and inequality, all of which shape our world today. Ultimately, its relevance to contemporary issues led me to choose Sociology as my concentration. If you have any questions about sociology or would like to chat about anything, please feel free to reach out!
