Rebecca Russell manages the undergraduate program in Sociology. She is responsible for ensuring that undergraduate concentrators are in good standing and making progress toward satisfying degree requirements, liaising with faculty and the department chair regarding the curriculum and timing of courses offered through the department, and managing the senior thesis writing process in the department, including overseeing two dozen faculty and graduate student thesis advisers. She also manages the department's Concentration Advisers. In addition, Rebecca sits on the Committee on Undergraduate Degrees, which governs the undergraduate program and the Curriculum Committee.

Rebecca received a B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature from the University of Kansas, an M.A. in National Development from National Taiwan University, and an M.A. in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University. Rebecca previously worked in student service and international education roles at the George Washington University and the University of Michigan.
