Katherine N. Gan, PhD, is an Associate at Abt with extensive experience leading and designing evaluations of programs within the fields of education and workforce development broadly.Katie works with primarily federal clients, such as the US Department of Education and the US Department of Labor, to figure out if their programs “work.” Currently, she’s staying busy:

• Designing, implementing and managing a random assignment and process evaluation of job training and placement programs for mid-skilled, long-term unemployed individuals;
• Developing, applying, and disseminating about standards for rigorous quantitative research studies in education for a billion-dollar grant program;  and
• Leading a literature review and demonstration study of the use of e-learning for workforce development.
