Hannah Craig is a PhD student in Sociology at Harvard. Originally from the metro Detroit area, she received her BA with high honors in political science and creative writing from the University of Michigan.

Hannah is largely interested in conducting research on the impact of research race, ethnicity, and skin tone have on criminal justice outcomes, and individuals’ lives before, during, and after incarceration. She is dedicated to pursuing research that fills gaps and illuminates disparities to enact change, with an emphasis on improving outcomes for justice-involved communities.

During her undergraduate education, she served as a research assistant on multiple projects lead by Professor Vincent Hutchings. Their current project investigates the impact informing subjects about the racial wealth gap has on their opinion about restorative policies and public policy preferences. Hannah’s honors thesis researched the factors involved in program development and implementation in the Washtenaw County jail. Post-graduation, she has served in professional research roles with mix-methods emphases, including as an Analyst with Mission Analytics Group and a Research Manager with C.A.R.E. Consulting Group.
