Paul Chang joining Sociology

The Sociology Department and the Korea Institute at Harvard are delighted to announce that Paul Chang will be joining the faculty as Assistant Professor of Sociology, effective July 1, 2013.  Chang‘s primary line of research focuses on Korean democratization with a secondary line of research on religion and on Christianity in Korea.   His newest research project is on the modernization of the Korean family. Chang received his Ph.D. from Stanford University and is currently Assistant Professor of Research Methodology at Yonsei University in South Korea.  The addition of Paul Chang to our faculty adds to our international and comparative focus and capabilities, complements and deepens our department’s course offerings in the area of political sociology and social movements, and brings East Asian cases into consideration as comparative cases for study with other areas of the world (e.g. Latin America).   Personal Website
