**Saúl Ramírez** is a PhD student in Sociology. He graduated with a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2016, where his majors were Chicano Studies and Ethnic Studies, and his minors were Education and Global Poverty and Practice. In 2019, Saúl earned a J.D. from Yale Law School, where he cultivated his research interests in crimmigration—the intersection of the immigration and criminal justice systems—by advocating for clients through legal clinics. Now, he intends to study the relationship between law and sociology. Saúl is a 2020 recipient of The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans.
