 I am an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy in the Graduate School of Education at the University at Buffalo – SUNY. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in sociology. After graduation, I taught high school English in Mississippi with Teach For America for two years, then worked as a research intern at Public/Private Ventures and as a paralegal for the U.S. Attorney’s office before entering graduate school. I received my Ph.D. in sociology from Harvard University in 2013. My research interests include inequality, education, race and ethnic relations, gender, youth and the family and qualitative methods.
