 *Research Interests:* Political sociology, historical sociology, social movements, political parties, media.

 **Matthew Brooke** is a Doctoral candidate in Sociology. Matthew's dissertation investigates why the Republican Party and right-wing media have become so deeply entangled. He traces the gradual development of right-wing media-party alignment over a period stretching from the 1920s to the early 2000s using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods.   
  
Matthew graduated from Oberlin College, majoring in Latin American Studies. Before coming to Harvard, he worked as a social worker in Philadelphia and as a journalist in Central America.
