Research interests:  International migration, social networks, qualitative research, research design.

Leah Muse-Orlinoff has been teaching sociology at Harvard since 2017. She earned a PhD in Sociology with an emphasis on International Migration at UC-San Diego, where she participated in and helped lead the Mexican Migration Field Research Program. Leah’s teaching emphasizes whole-person approaches in which everyone is encouraged to bring their personal, family, and community experiences to the study and practice of sociology. In addition to teaching the Immigration Research Lab and Economic Sociology: Social Contexts of Exchange Practices at Harvard, Leah works with organizations providing citizenship and removal defense legal services to develop and implement data and civic engagement projects for.
