Jeffrey Swindle is a College Fellow in Sociology at Harvard University. His research covers cultural diffusion, gender inequality, and international migration. In current work, he assesses how ideas about gender are circulated across the world and affect people's lives. He has published in Demography, World Development, International Migration Review, and other venues, and his paper "Pathways of Global Cultural Diffusion" received six graduate student paper awards. Before coming to Harvard, Dr. Swindle completed a Doctorate in Sociology at the University of Michigan and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin.

Research Interests: Global cultural convergence and divergence, with a focus on gender relations, and international migration
