Holly Hummer is a doctoral student in Sociology. She is interested in the processes through which individuals form families and make work decisions, particularly in the United States and East Asia. Her dissertation examines childlessness, focusing on how women narrate their pathways to and experiences of non-parenthood. Holly grew up in Austin, Texas, and attended Middlebury College in Vermont. Prior to attending graduate school, she taught high school English in Tokyo, Japan.
