*Research Interests:* Collective efficacy and social trust, neighborhood and domestic violence, crime and policing, neighborhood effects and inequality, legal cynicism

Amelia O’Halloran is a PhD student in Sociology. She studies violence, homicide, mortality, collective efficacy, social trust, and neighborhood inequality. Prior to beginning her PhD, she worked with Professor Rob Sampson in Harvard’s Sociology department for two years as a Pre-doctoral Research Fellow, working on the Project on Human Development in Chicago Neighborhoods (PHDCN+). She also previously worked as a researcher at the Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy at the University of Cambridge, focusing on projects related to responsible Artificial Intelligence practices.
