The Fulton Thesis Prize for best thesis and two Honorable Mentions were awarded on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the department's annual senior thesis writers' reception this year held at Professor Viterna's home.

The Fulton Thesis Prize for best thesis was awarded to Vanessa Rodriguez for his thesis titled “Women in Firehouses and Financial Firms: Experiences of Gender, Class, and the Intersection.” Advisor: Dr. Rachel Meyer.

Two theses received Honorable Mention for the Fulton Prize:

Mariam JalloulMariam Jalloul - “Separate and Unequal: The Effects of Racial Residential Segregation on the Black and White Infant Mortality Rate in the U.S.” Advisor: Dr. Benjamin Sosnaud
