Stephanie Wu '19 wins department's Fulton Prize for Best Thesis and Harvard's 2019 Thomas Temple Hoopes Prize!

"THE ROLE OF LINGUISTIC CAPITAL IN THE HEALTH PERCEPTIONS OF FORMERLY DETAINED AND DEPORTED HISPANIC IMMIGRANT MEN," is the title of her thesis, advised by Mo Torres, PhD Candidate in Sociology.

The Albert M. Fulton, A.B. 1897 prize was established in 1977. This prize is awarded annually to the senior who submits the best thesis “judged by its contents,” research methods, “and literary expression, in the field of . . . sociology.” 

The Thomas Temple Hoopes Prize is awarded to thesis writers and advisers "for excellent undergraduate work and excellence in the art of teaching."
