Mario L. Small
Mario Luis Small, Grafstein Family Professor of Sociology, has been selected for an American Academy of Political and Social Science Fellowship. This Fellowship is one of the very highest honors the scholarly community can bestow on one of its members.  We are all very fortunate indeed to work with Mario and thus to have the privilege to see up close just how deserving he is of this award.  Not only has he written three field-defining books, Villa Victoria, Unanticipated Gains, and Someone To Talk To, he has also written a number of highly-cited articles on theory and method, taught innovative and rigorous nourses at the undergraduate and graduate level at three leading universities, and distinguished himself as a very successful Chair then Dean at the University of Chicago.
