Yael Berda's book, Living Emergency: Israel's Permit Regime in the Occupied West Bank, has been selected as the runner up in this year's Association for Political and Legal Anthropology (APLA) Book Prize.

The APLA book prize committee, this year chaired by Livia Stone and Georgina Ramsay, and also including Isaias Rojas-Perez, Shiri Pasternak, and Nikhil Anand. Berda's book was chosen for this honor from an extremely competitive field of numerous excellent submissions.
