Michèle Lamont to receive Erasmus Prize from the Netherlands

Congratulations to Michèle Lamont who has been awarded one of Europe’s highest honors for a scholar, the 2017 Erasmus Prize from the Premium Erasmianum Foundation of the Netherlands.  As described in this official announcement this award is given annually "a person or institution that has made an exceptional contribution to the humanities, social sciences or arts. His Majesty the King is Patron of the Foundation. The award consists of a cash prize of € 150,000. The prize will be presented in November 2017. In conjunction with the presentation of the Erasmus Prize, a varied programme of activities will be organized around Michèle Lamont and the theme 'Knowledge, Power and Diversity’.    

His majesty the King usually presents the prize at a ceremony in the Royal Palace in Amsterdam.  The event slated for November 2017.
