Kahrl Award for Excellence in Teaching

Our faculty includes among it the world’s foremost experts in areas such as poverty, immigration, race and ethnicity, corporate management, crime, politics, intellectual and social history, work, gender, and culture.
Paul Chang has been awarded this years Kahrl Award for Excellence in Teaching. This Kahrl Award is given to a junior faculty member in the Department who has made outstanding contributions to undergraduate instruction. The winner is chosen by a student advisory committee based on student feedback, this year chaired by Antonia Washington and Jessica Jin.  The Kahrl Award was established some years ago as the "Excellence in Teaching Award."  It was given to the Department by a former undergraduate concentrator, Mr. George Kahrl, in recognition of Professor Stephen Cornell’s outstanding commitment to undergraduate education at Harvard. It is given to a junior faculty member in the Department who has made outstanding contributions to undergraduate instruction.
