The New York Times and El País, the leading newspaper in the Spanish language, cited research by alumnus Alvaro Santana-Acuña on literary classics. He also published an Op-Ed in The New York Times reflecting on key changes in the modes of creation, production and circulation of audiovisual products, such as the Netflix series on the novel 'One Hundred Years of Solitude.' Santana-Acuña received his Ph.D. in Sociology in 2014 and is currently Assistant Professor at Whitman College.
