In addition, on October 29, the AAPI COVID-19 Project, a project led by Professor Jason Beckfield and Dr. Vivian Shaw, provided expert testimony to the Congressional Tri Caucus Health Working Group on COVID-19. Susanna Park, PhD Candidate in Public Health at Oregon State University presented on behalf of the team. The Tri Caucus is a group of Congressional Staff representing the Congressional Black Staff Association, Congressional Hispanic Staff Association and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Staff Association. They regularly hold briefings focused on racial disparities in the pandemic with the goal of promoting greater inclusivity in legislation.
