#  Orlando Patterson honored in Germany with Hegel Prize

[**Orlando Patterson**](https://patterson.scholars.harvard.edu/), the John Cowles Professor of Sociology, was honored last week with the 2024 Hegel Prize at a ceremony in Stuttgart, Germany. Named for 19th-century philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, who was born and raised in Stuttgart, the award recognizes outstanding contributions to the humanities.
