Currently, I lead local sales, marketing and events for Square – helping to make commerce easy for merchants nationwide.

Prior to Square, I was Head of Local Marketing at Google, where I led product marketing and acquisition for the suite of Google's local products including Google Places, Local, Maps and Zagat. I also created and managed Google's first field marketing team, which reached over 100,000 local business owners across the country. Prior to joining the local team, I spent two years managing the Google.com homepage globally. Before joining Google in 2007, I worked at the Boston Consulting Group and the California Governor's Office of Planning and Research.

In many ways, Sociology and marketing are very closely related, and I find myself using core skills I developed during undergrad on an almost daily basis. Whether interviewing customers as part of a segmentation exercise or using statistical analyses to determine the best new market to enter, studying Sociology helped set a solid and well-rounded foundation for my career.
