#  Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics Graduate Fellowships 

 



 [The Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics](https://ethics.harvard.edu/) at Harvard University encourages teaching and research about ethical issues in the professions and public life. Its Graduate Fellowships support outstanding Harvard graduate and professional students who are writing dissertations or are engaged in major research on topics in practical ethics, especially ethical issues in areas such as architecture, business, education, government, law, medicine, public health, public policy, and religion.

 **How to Apply**  
Complete the **[online application form](https://ejsafracenter.smapply.org/prog/graduate_fellows)** and upload the following documents in .pdf, .doc, or .docx format when prompted.  
• Statement describing applicant's interest in practical and professional ethics and plans for a dissertation or research project (no more than 2,000 words)  
• Curriculum Vitae  
• Unofficial undergraduate and graduate transcripts (accepted applicants will be required to furnish official transcripts)  
• Sole-authored scholarly paper

 In addition, applicants should arrange for **two letters of reference** to be sent in response to requests generated by the applicant via the online system. *Letters of recommendation MUST be received by November 15, 2019.* The deadline for submitting applications is **November 1, 2019**, at 11:59 p.m ET. Please note that the application form will be saved automatically while in progress, but no edits or alterations will be allowed once the application is submitted.
