Sociology as a discipline and experience at Harvard is fundamental to who I am today. Goffman's Presentation of Self helped me understand my identity better. Exposure during tutorial to Marx and Weber helped me understand socioeconomic relationships and class warfare (very relevant in a rapidly gentrifying San Francisco in 2015). Courses in technology and media taught me about human behavior (which was very relevant when I was a product manager at Yammer and will continue to be relevant as I build technology products). Social entrepreneurship case studies allowed me to refine skills critical to being a startup founder. Professor Ager and the rest of the department's generous, passionate, thoughtful, and reliable support helped me develop from an adolescent to an adult. My experience with sociology has had a tremendous impact on my life's trajectory and personal fulfillment.
